Additional information for readme?

The readme says "Media Foundation workaround for Wine" and "add Media Foundation support to a Wine prefix". So does this add full media foundation support to wine? What does this software actually do? What can we expect from using it?

So does this add full media foundation support to wine? No it's just a workaround that usually works. This is just while we wait.jpg for Wine devs to implement Media Foundation in Wine.

What does this software actually do Honestly, the script is like 60 lines and is basically English. I certainly wouldn't use a shell script from some random person without looking at it, I can't believe hundreds of people have used this without looking at the script.

What can we expect from using it? Play most games that require Media Foundation for video playback through Wine on GNU+Linux.

I'm surprised you didn't bring up the example path given in the README, because some people don't realize you're not literally supposed to just copy and paste it. They don't know what a Wine prefix is and that it could be a folder anywhere on your filesystem.

If anything this is the only real problem with the README.

It would actually get fairly verbose trying to handhold and insult people's intelligence to explain how folders and environment variables work. I feel this is unnecessary for the large majority of users, and anyone who is actually confused by this I'm sure will easily figure out this computer 101 stuff.

I intentionally want to keep the README short and simple, I want people to see the README (and the script) and go "It's that simple?"

So are these modified DLL files that allow you to skip media foundation video content, or is this just an installer for the media foundation DLLs from Microsoft?

You can check the MD5 hashes, completely untouched from Windows 7.

This is basically an installer for these DLL files into a Wine prefix, yes.
