Auto Update Section Numbers breaks links to headings

What is the problem?

Auto updating the sections to automatically add section numbers is great. But if you cross reference these sections in the same page or other pages, it breaks them as these reference links arent automatically updated.

So now the section is 1.1 Section but the reference link is still [`Section`](#section) while in reality is should be [`Section`](#11-section).

Can you please investigate this further as it would be quite hard and painful to fix all the references manually, especially if the documentation is quite huge?

Is there any error message in the console?
