Currently, I don't have such a plan as R Markdown is a Markdown dialect in a sense. I will reconsider if many people would like to have it.

Those configurations are hardcoded in the `package.json`, which is the configuration file of the extension itself. I don't think it is possible for an extension to change its own configuration...

Yep, I know it from the very beginning. It uses Puppeteer now so it also has the problem that it doesn't generate bookmarks.
