Cant Change the font or the font size of the Code in the generated pdf

I am trying to change the font size of the code that is printed in the generated pdf. My markdown file contains several code blocks, which seem to be completely unaffected by whatever setting I try to change. I tried everything that I could in C:\Users\<user>\.vscode\extensions\yzane.markdown-pdf-1.4.4\styles\markdown.css but nothing seems to change the styles of the code blocks. Am I doing something wrong? Am I supposed to edit the file somewhere else?

The font in the generated pdf is code new roman. Now while I do have this font in my system, I haven't put it in my VS code settings, or anywhere in the markdown.css file. So from where is that font being referenced? and How do I change it or its size?
