Live-A-Live - Issue Compilation
As per GG-Ghost's request on Discord, I present to you an issue compilation for this game.
~~1. Crash on Vulkan in loading screens (YFC regression).~~
~~I had already reported this issue in the YFC pull reqeust (#8467), but basically, the game crashes on Vulkan during loading screens in EA.~~
~~yuzu_log_ea_debug_2805_512.xx.zip~~
~~The workaround for now is playing in Open GL, which can be a problem for video devices that have a poor OGL support.~~
(EDIT - 2022/09/17: As per the latest yuzu EA version, it seems like the issue stopped happening.)
- Random graphics artifacts.
Sometimes there has been moments where random blinding effects can occur. I saw this happening twice. Once after fleeing a battle in the forest on Imperial China in the demo, and again in the chapter select screen. This is solved by leaving and coming back from either screen.
This was also observed on Vulkan in mainline, but there's sometimes yellow lines on the top part of the screen. The first screenshot is from Vulkan on mainline, and the second one happened in EA 2849.
I attach a log file that contains the graphic artifacts reported in this point that happened in the main game.
- This one I noticed in the Distant Future. The monitor that showed the captain looks wrong.
By comparison, this is how it should really look on console.
I don't have a log for this one, as it happened suddenly and without warning, so there's the screenshots I took from the demo.
Probably I'll be reporting more issues as soon as I can test the game further. So far I have finished the Imperial China chapter, FYI.
Status Update:
I finished the Twilight Edo of Japan chapter without notable issues I could discern. I continued and finished the Distant Future chapter, and got the issue I described in point 3 once more.
I got the log this time around, from EA2858.
I'll keep reporting as soon as I find more issues, but so far so good.
Status Update:
I finished the Present Day Chapter today. There weren't graphical issues to be had, although, I have to report an issue that's been kind of a constant, and it's that sometimes, the game has some mini-stutters. It can be seen in the title screen, in the chapter select screen, and sometimes during a normal playthrough can be seen. I'll attach the latest log.
I'll keep reporting if I find anything else.
In the Prehistoric era, grass particles look like neon green rectangles, they're just supposed to look like the little dark-green pieces of grass on the floor.
As you travel back and forth through load points, it seems like some part of the lighting slowly gets messed up?
All those bright red spots are not supposed to be there.
Here's loading out and back in (sometimes it fixes it, sometimes it doesn't):
I've seen it pop up in a few rooms in a few different colors. The worst one was a lot of purple everywhere, when the room was previously completely normal.
...and as I finished typing that, I hit the menu button to change equipment, and when I exited the menu, this happened:
Strange stuff! Would love to see it hammered out eventually. :)
(I've tried it on Vulkan, OpenGL, docked, handheld, messed around with the scaling, AA, etc, all one at a time, nothing seems to fix these issues.)

Can you please post a log of these findings?
Sorry, I thought I did! Here's the log: yuzu_log.txt
Alright, I can corroborate those issues in Prehistory. I found another one in the Wild West chapter. Sometimes, when using Sidewinder with Mad Dog, you would get an orange square instead of the radical for the shot. Sadly I couldn't get a screenshot of that issue. What I got was a batch of Prehistory screenshots.
There was one instance where the backlight of the floor didn't show. It corrected itself after leaving and entering the room.
This is how it should have appeared, which happened after leaving and coming back-
I also got two instances of weird lighting. Those are random and tend to fix themselves after leaving and coming back to the room.
And I can also confirm the green artifact when walking on grass.
Here's the log file.
I still haven't finished the Prehistory chapter, so probably I'll come back later for more reports.
Finished the Prehistory Chapter. I only saw one more issue, but probably it was related to some shenanigans with the GPU, which were fixed upon restarting the PC.
Here's the log with this happening.
Today I got started with the Near Future chapter, and... there was an issue I noticed with the room where the Steel Titan is located, as the room can sometimes look like this:
When it should be looking like this:
And then there was a place in the Near Future overworld that suffered from random graphical artifacts.
Here's the log that pertains to the Near Future issues.
There were also random artifacts with enemies exploding after getting beaten, but I wasn't able to catch that one reliably, same as the issue I mentioned with Sidewinder in my previous message.
I'll come back with more information if needed.
One more issue I saw, related to other issue I reported in the Near Future chapter. Remember when I said that there were times where there was the wrong lighting? The same happened here (inside the robot). It also happened in the overworld, but I didn't screenshot that for some reason.
And here's the log.
And that's it for the Near Future chapter. I'll be coming back to report issues in the next chapter, if I find any.
experiencing the weird lights too, pretty sure the weird lights and the weird coloured spots are actually the same glitch just with different random colours and brightness
also i've noticed that enemy sprites during combat have a visible rectangle around them seemingly only when there are transparent effects over them on the screen, will capture it and provide the log later (also need to check game footage to make sure its a glitch and not an intended thing)
Alright, so, I did the first half of the Middle Ages chapter, and... oh boy, I noticed some issues.
Random graphics artifacts. My favorite.
Less bright than the previous example, but in the snow area, there were times that purple artifacts appeared.
This happened randomly after a battle in an area with artifacting. Too bright.
Sometimes, this happened when selecting a skill to use, with the battle screen becoming rather corrupted. It happened at random times.
Here's the log:
I'll come back with another report, hopefully later.
OK. So, to continue with the final chapter, one thing I noticed is that sometimes at the beginning of a session, audio is desync, but it eventually fixes itself, I dunno what exactly triggers it.
And also, there's the typical random issues with bloom and random colors sometimes. The first one comes to mind, specially because of the sheer wrong colors.
Here's the log file.
