2 Player LAN Play in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe broken

Description of Issue

2 players LAN Play mode in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe doesn’t work anymore since mainline-0-1729 (it still worked in mainline-0-1728). When selecting 2 player on LAN Play mode, the game shows the mii selection screen and freeze with sound still on.

Expected Behavior

The game should let the player choose the 2nd Mii and then should show the room selection menu and wait for the player select or create a room.

Reproduction Steps

1. Configure a working network interface under Configuration -> System -> Network.
2. Run Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
3. Go to the main menu.
4. Select LAN Play with 2 players.
5. Try to select a Mii

Issue encountered on a friend PC too which I don't know the specs.
