Switch between JupyterLab and noVNC

Hi,

Once jupyter-desktop-server is available in JupyterHub you can manually rewrite the URL to switch between JupyterLab (https://<url>/lab) and noVNC (https://<url>/desktop).

If I use the classic notebook interface instead (https://<url>/tree) I see the option from the drop-down menu

Would it be possible to customize the JupyterLab interface to add a link to open the noVNC interface?

I vote for this: I would like to add an item in the JupyterLab launcher for the Desktop.

Has anyone achieved this?
