When typing into the box on the demo page foo--bar is translated to foo —bar (note the space between foo and —).

Similarly, foo -- bar becomes foo — bar (so there's now two spaces between foo and —).

I'm using Firefox Nightly 39.0a1 (2015-03-04), on Windows.
