Unable to link the device

Unable to link the device, everytime I enter the code on my phone YouTube app it shows ! mark. Hence I'm unable to cast phone YouTube video to TV.

Спасибо за отличное приложение. А теперь более подробное описание проблемы. Использую на Nvidia Shield Pro. Когда телефон и плеер с приложением подключены к одной Wifi сети, телефон не видит SmartTubeNext, а только "Shield" - встроенный Chromecast на девайсе, который при проигрывании видео с Youtube запускает официальный Youtube-клиент (даже после деинсталляции приложения Youtube на плеере). До недавнего времени спасался подключением с помощью кода. Когда телефон уже привязан, достаточно запустить приложение SmartTubeNext на плеере, и телефон его видел. При этом телефоны некоторых гостей уже давно не могли подключиться даже с помощью кода - после ввода последнего символа кода на телефоне показывается восклицательный знак, как при неправильно введенном коде. Тот же самый код при этом срабатывал на другом телефоне. Функция удаления всех присоединенных устройств в приложении не помогает. Пару недель назад мой уже подсоединенный телефон перестал видеть SmartTubeNext, попытка переподключения дала тот же результат - неправильно введенный код. Телефон жены перестал видеть и принимать код на несколько дней позже. У обоих все приложения обновляются автоматически. Если нужна помощь в troubleshooting, собрать логи и т.д. - всегда готов.

Thought I was the only person having this issue, but yes, trying to log into another account and link it, results in a Error 403 code. Using latest 11.37 build that was updated this morning.

Interestingly, casting from iOS YouTube still seems to work. I have the same issue on Android (cannot connect via code) but on iPad it works great.

Found this out today. Interestingly I can still link with the "Smart YouTube TV" app (the older one with the standard YouTube interface). Might be a worrisome for folks trying to avoid ads until SmartTube Next is working again. I've got both apps installed on a Shield.

@Jahfry the older app has a standard YouTube interface because it essentially just wraps the YouTube site built for TVs (https://youtube.com/tv), using a user agent that is able to access it. Normally if you try access it in an Android browser, it'll try to redirect to the regular YouTube app, so the User Agent needs to be spoofed to be that of a TV that's designed to use this interface. That app uses a lot of first-party Google/YouTube code, so the linking code is all Google's code.

As far as I can tell, this SmartTubeNext app is an entirely separate app containing original code. I find it much more reliable than even the standard YouTube app, the UI is significantly more responsive, and the fact that I can make it use a large buffer is very useful. The only issue I've encountered is this one with linking a device.

On Android 10 and YouTube app version 16.20.35 no problem with entering and submitting TV code (the connection after that is ok), but with actual YouTube app version 16.26.35 the TV code can not be sent.

For those having trouble linking with the official YT app can try with the VancedYoutube an unofficial YT app that is also ad free.

It worked for me.

This is fixed in the latest version. It was listed in the changelog for 11.66 and I just verified that it's working now :)

I vote to reopen issue. Was working a week ago but i tried re-linking and it fails with error message "error while loading screen" It works with stock YouTube tv app but doesn't on smarttube. Tried on 15.62 and 14.82 Tried full restart and reinstall of both smarttube and my phones youtube app. Tried rebooting router. Yt is fully updated and vanced on version 15.33.34(it worked fine until i messed with it and couldn't re-connect) EDIT: can close back the issue It's an unrelated bug i opened a new issue
