[FIX for BUG]: Package parsing failed

Open chiaroscuric opened this issue 1 week ago • 3 comments

I tried installing the new version, but it said something like "Package parsing failed", for some people it might say "An unknown error occured.".

But, after reviewing a little bit of source code I noticed this:

<package android:name="com.google.android.youtube.tv" />
        <package android:name="com.amazon.firetv.youtube" />

I have no idea what this means, but it gave me the idea to try installing YouTube - and it worked.

Also, I wanted to say that I managed to figure out a way to download the stable release, through a file manager on the Android TV. The app works fine.

I'm not getting this error, but I do get my device complaining that the app was build on an older version of android. Which is new and not reassuring at all after the events of the past few days. Could it be due to the whole backup thing. Sure. Is it enough for me to not trust it right now, yes.

I myself don't know, I'm not so familiar with this.
