[BUG]: Shorts no longer appear in channels

Steps to reproduce the bug

1. Login to your youtube account via SmartTube
2. Go to Channels
3. Select a channel that you know has a lot of shorts

Actual behavior

I subscribe to several youtube channels that put out a lot of Shorts. None of the short videos can be found when viewing by Channel. I made sure that "Hide Shorts from Channels" wasn't checked in Settings. In fact, I toggled it on then off to see if I could reset the feature, but that didn't work.

This has happened all of a sudden, without updating SmartTube, so it's likely that youtube has changed something that's incompatible with SmartTube

Same problem here. Looks to have appeared about two versions ago. 9.2.2! Hotfix on Nvidia shield. I don't have any of the hide content options checked, every one of them is unchecked.

Another weird related problem that's been going on for quite some time as in months it's that you won't get notified of new channel content if it is a short. A common channel this happens to me on all the time is daily dose of Internet. I never get a notification when they put out a short. I'll get the notification that they put out a long video and then see that there were four or five prior days shorts that I didn't say. Seems very repeatable with that channel.

It's been continuous since I reported it. I get the channel notification that there's new content, but have to open the channel and page down to the shorts. Most of my subs knock out 2-5 shorts per day, so it's really inconvient.

And we've had this same problem several times, where shorts do this.

Confirmed...Shorts now only appear if you open a channel and go to the shorts section. Shorts are missing everywhere else no matter what hide content options are...always hidden.

The new version released today doesn't correct it, and introduces a new/old bug (we've seen this one before too) where the search history shown is last search most recent, rather than most searched for. This one has shown up a few times last year.

For me, this is a feature. Not so much for my daughter.

There's an option to hide shorts in several places if they're undesirable. Most of my news and tech channels make most of their content as shorts. They're no different to me than any other video. It's a giant PITA to open the channel and scroll down 8-10 times to see the content.

This was independent of the shield update. It was a problem before I installed that. It came soon after a smarttube update, but may have been something that google/youtube is doing differently.

No, I'm not going to bother with separate logins, I just have them on for my account, and she uses that. The only reason I knew they were missing is that she complained.

Its annoying as fuck and shouldnt have been touched and an option to hide in channels. Hope they fix it non the less.

For everyone saying that they don't like Shorts, there's a setting under General->Hide unwanted content->Hide shorts from a channel. Check that and you won't see shorts in channels.

However, this is a bug whether you want to see shorts or not. Also, the SmartTube devs do a great job in general, and they don't charge for the app, so maybe have a little respect. Many times when there are new issues, it's because google/youtube made a change, not the SmartTube devs (SmartTube uses the youtube API which they have no control over)

Yup, still happening after a few releases a few days ago.

I have arthritis in my thumbs from typing for a long time. My thumbs are both really sore! Some channels have ths shorts at the bottom of the page.

Totally first world problems!

Not so far. It's on the youtube end because I kicked on an old tv with an old ver of smarttube and still no shorts.

I hate it, but I might have to just start using the regular youtube client.

Got that in the right arm. Sorry man. I found that one of the things that helped long term was to really build up the muscles in the hand, wrist and forearm.

The end result of working on computers for 50+ years. The digits start really hating you after a bit.

First world problem: Fingers hurty while watching commercial free videos that people spend all day making.

Yeah my first thumbs and index and middle are numb 90% of the time. I wear wrist splints but will be getting surgery.

Guys. Shorts from the Subscriptions are moved to the Shorts sidebar section. It's temporal and will be fixed in the future.
