SmartTube starts itself without user interaction

A while now SmartTube has started to launch itself at random moments during the day. I have it installed on my Nvidia Shield.

Frustratingly, it will interrupt what I'm doing in any other app. It even wakes up my Shield in the middle of the night and starts playing the last Youtube video I watched.

I have already tried clearing all app data and settings to no avail.

It seems to stop happening when I manually force close the app after I'm done using it. But obviously this is not a sustainable solution.

I'm not sure how to help troubleshoot this, but I have the same problem on Nvidia Shield. And can also confirm that force stop does resolve the issue until the next time I open Smarttube.

Any way to assist in debugging this?

I have this problem when I dont kill the YouTube app on my phone, because the casting gets automatically activated in the background, which results in SmartTube to be opened on my TV

When using a device to remotely control SmartTube (ios YouTube app for example), SmartTube boots when:

• the remote control app disconnects in the background
• the remote control app is opened (and was already connected)

It also seems that when multiple users are connected, the playlist restarts when the above points occur on one of the devices.

I'm also having this problem with SmartTube on a Chomecast with a Google TV (4th gen Chromecast). It happens with both Android and iOS remotes setup in the YouTube app.
