Chinese subtitles not working

When switching subtitles to translated Chinese version, all of the subtitles show up at once at the beginning of the video like this:

It doesn't happen with other subtitles. I also tried Eastern languages like Japanese, and it doesn't happen either. It also doesn't happen with every video but does 80% of the time.

This is a YouTube error. I encountered the same issue on the PC web version. By the way, if I use simplified Chinese characters, it works fine. I find it strange.

I have it set on simplified Chinese. But it just jumps to traditional a lot of times by default
