PiP video possible?

I haven't seen people talking specifically about video of PiP mode. But of what I read seems to indicate that it also has video. I have a Chromecast with Google TV 4K (latest update), when I go into the setting under background playback as said in the readme I only see variants of audio and how to activate it. Is it also possible to choose video and if so should I change any settings? I already have given permission for Display over other apps, but I also thought that PiP should work inside of STN without any permissions even as it controls that itself. I don't even necessarily want it outside of smarttubenext, but just so that I can browse/organize things while watching a video is something I often find myself willing to do. I still can do it by using my phone, but the usability of it is less good.

Tried the following in readme: SmartTube supports playing videos in PiP mode. This needs to be enabled under Settings > General > Background playback > Picture in picture.

There's a PiP icon in the player, it minimizes the video to a floating window in my Samsung tablet. I can't play other videos at the same time, but can browse and use other text oriented apps at the same time the video is playing.
