Pacman too far out of date

Open Katherine1 opened this issue 1 year ago • 4 comments

Several months back, Arch Linux migrated to GIT, and part of that change eliminated the Community repo. ( See: https://archlinux.org/news/git-migration-completed/ )

This changeover required upgrading to a newer version of pacman than what is provided in ArchWSL. Unfortunately, at this point, the version of Pacman provided by a fresh install of this WSL distro is too old to get packages, which prevents installing anything not present in the base system.

To Reproduce Install a fresh copy of Arch WSL and try to do anything with pacman.

Expected behavior We should be able to get packages.

I've not had issues with clean installs of ArchWSL?

No issues since the change. The changes needs to be reflected in /etc/pacman.conf, afaik pacman did that by itself.

Just replace the filesystem with latest one https://github.com/yuk7/ArchWSL-FS/releases
