That addon link redirects to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/mozrepl/ which says Firefox 3.0 - 3.6.*. Trying to install it on 4.0b10pre gets a "MozRepl could not be installed because it is not compatible..."...

Yes, it is certainly a bug for a module to depend on strings being downgraded. But sometimes you have to work around bugs. :) An alternative to changing the interface...
