How to stack

Hi there. I have a little bit modified STL and would like to print the file stacked like the stacked files that you provide. How did you create them? Just add the same model on top of another one in CAD with a small gap? How large of a gap? Did you try just importing a file multiple times into the slicer and positioning them vertically in the slicer? Thanks in advance!
