Bluetooth connection randomly and frequently dropped

I have the problem that bluetooth just stops working sometimes. what is interesting is that during that time the connected smartphone also starts lagging incredibly while trying to play audio. after it drops the following error is shown

Same here when connecting w10 to my pixel 4xl. I am running a custom rom but the effects are about the same as in stock rom. Bluetooth connection can also spontaneously stop working. Maybe add a troubleshooting menu in the next version of the program?
