New User ... Cannot install in Fx 121

Open VLM-TechEd opened this issue 1 year ago • 5 comments

I am new to this extension and was looking forward to using it. But I cannot install it in Fx 121.x. When I click on the Add to Firefox button, it comes back, and the message "Installation aborted because the add-on appears to be corrupt" appears in an orange bar at the top of the page. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a fix or workaround?

Thank you.

Fine at 122...

As workarounds possible:

  • save xpi on local drive (save as option instead simple clicking) and drag and drop at about:addons or
  • change ISP (e.g. from Ethernet to Wi-Fi hotspot from Smartphone).

I also have 122, and when I try to install from the extension installation page, Fx says it aborted installation because the extension appears to be corrupt. This happens, and I am happy to download the xpi file and try it that way. However, there is nothing on your Releases page. Where can I download the xpi file?

Thank you!

Oh, and I did try “Save Target As” from the Fx extension page. I got the xpi file, a release candidate version apparently, but the same happened: Installation aborted because extension appears to be corrupt.

Try disable third party antivirus at Windows?

Github releases also can be blocked by AV.

I routinely download files from GitHub. I cannot FIND your files on GitHub … that is the problem at the moment. Where are they?
