[Feature request]: Scan (Customer Barcode, QR or NFC) to Retrieve Customer Info

Scenario.

In many POS applications, especially when using Loyalty Programs and other Customer specific features, a customer is required to present their details (name, phone or other) to the Cashier in order for the Cashier to retrieve Customer account.

When one or more customers have almost similar names or phone numbers the cashier must type the entire name or number. When there are thousands of customers (e.g. For a Loyalty Program based POS) this method quickly becomes slow and impractical.

Solution I'd like

Add a function that supports scanning a customer's Barcode, QR or NFC to return the exact Customer's details. The Barcode or QR code could be in a Mobile App. The NFC could be a card or sticker.

In the customer field, we could have a button that uses an existing scanner (perhaps already used for item checkout) to scan a barcode, QR or nfc and return information that POS Awesome will use to retrieve and set the customer property.

Alternatives I've considered

Asking the customer their customer number, name or phone which is very impractical considering speed and privacy of information (imagine customers in a queue).
