Not working on Firefox
Describe the bug
s/xx, (I've tried them all) does not work with the extension installed on firefox. I tried on a chrome instance and it worked on there but that is not my primary browser. My browser is hardened quite a bit so I'm not sure if it's one of those settings that is preventing it from running but just curious on what options do I need to have enabled for it to run.
Steps to reproduce
- Go to s/xx
- it just opens a search window on my chosen search provider rather than redirecting to the link.
Expected behavior
- go to s/xx
- go to said website.
Screenshots or additional context
It doesn't seem to be firefox-related, rather more on your default search engine.
I'm using firefox 134.0.1 and can confirm that:
- with
duckduckgoas default search,s/$xdoesn't work - with
googleas default search, slash shorthand works
duckduckgo support as default search engine itself is currently broken.
Based on this, extension uses pattern matching like */search?q=..., but duckduckgo format is: duckduckgo.com/?q=search_term. duckduckgo requests are not intercepted.
Thanks for the feedback, we will adapt to DuckDuckGo later.
