RecordYou produces only empty video files

Open 2011 opened this issue 1 year ago • 5 comments

Steps to reproduce

Started RecordYou several times attempting to record the screen. After various times (from a few seconds to over a minute), stopped the recording.

Expected behavior

I expect to see the screen recordings. :)

Actual behavior

All the recordings have a size of 3225 bytes, and obviously contain no content.

Record You version

7.2 (17)

Android version

7.0

Other details

The "recordings" appeared in the directory that I selected, but that directory does not appear on the settings page (I think that it should next to the button to select the directory to save the recordings).

This must be a problem specific to your android version. Unfortunately, we haven't tested this app on Android 7 devices.

I have the same issue on android 12. Empty video recordings of 3.1k size. As written above, the recording appeared in the directory I selected.

Does your App need any special permissions, e.g. access to internet or any Google services like Googles framework ( which -for sure- is not available with pure Android) ?

Audio recordings and playback work fine.

EDIT: SOLVED / SOLUTION I found that since Android 11 there is a built-in screen recording function. This works fine for me. Thanks anyway
