Pause Synchronisation

Is it possible to have the ability to pause synchronisation and then resume it later?

This would be very helpful when transferring a large number of photos/videos from my phone into a Dropbox folder on my Chromebook. All the files could be moved into a temporary buffer space on the Chromebook then synchronised later, rather than waiting for each file to be uploaded to the Dropbox cloud before the next file can be copied.

It would also help to be able to turn off receiving new downloads while using a slow Internet connection for other purposes.
