Walkthrough for new users
Currently, users might miss properly configuring the extension to their BitBake environment. The current pointers are the README and the configuration error message that appears during startup.
A proper beginner walk-through could be implemented to make this more welcoming and obvious. Welcome views seem to be the common best practice.

Also we should consider how the incomming support for bitbake-setup/oe-layer-setup is going to fit into that.

I guess "Welcome views" and "Walkthroughs" would be the best way to introduce new users. Content-wise, a reasonable base would be the README.md guide. But feel free to come up with any suggestions!
Thank you for assigning this issue to me, Using the README as a starting point is a great idea. I'll also explore other options and work on implementing them
