Navigation: Quick slicing side panel

Problems

We're currently using the left panel to slice the data in the main windows by a selection from the project hierarchy. However, often is it useful to very quickly slice the content by a different criteria. Most commonly by artist, status or folder type. Right now to achieve it, I'd have to rebuild my filter, but that doesn't allow for fast switching between various options.

Proposal

A common design pattern to solve this issue is giving user the choice of data which is then used to slice (quickly filter) the content. The best example is probably github projects slicer. For this to be useful it is important to list all the possible options of the chosen criteria, so switching between the assignees or statuses or anything else really is just a single click away.

The default state of the slicer should remain the project hierarchy.
