I wish you could filter by current players, or see a list of current players on each team. Right now, you can only get all 3,800+ players or a specific player.

P.S. This API is awesome, but a boy can dream!

You can use the stats API to get stats for the last several days of games for a team. The players included in those stats are the active players on the team's roster. It's not quite what you're looking for but might work for you.
