Problem: What is the purpose of a domain (or service)

Why do we group things (capabilities) into domains or services - what does that give us?

A world, a selection that defines a society of events with a fact of togetherness, in other words a particular nexus of actual occasions with social order.

So do I understand it in a sort of inside/outside differentiator which is used to add clarity: e.g. "Inside this domain, the word Credit means .... " (not a million miles away from a namespace in code).

I'm sure it does :) this raises the question of what it means to "add clarity" and what is the structure of the relations between an "inside" and an "outside"... I'm sure you won't be surprised to hear me say, I find Whitehead's Process and Reality tremendously useful when considering these concerns!

"Thus, conversely, each actual entity corresponds to a meaning of 'the actual world' peculiar to itself. This point is dealt with more generally in categories of explanation (iii) and (v). An actual world is a nexus; and the actual world of one actual entity sinks to the level of a subordinate nexus in actual worlds beyond that actual entity."

"Rationalism is an adventure in the clarification of thought, progressive and never final. But it is an adventure in which even partial success has importance."
