Subpixel text rendering doesn't work under 10.7.4

As titled. I've been using serif fonts (Courier New and LiSong Pro, namely) with "Subpixel text rendering" checked. But since the latest update the option stopped working, making the serif fonts edgy and uncomfortably thin. I have only one Mac right now (which is on 10.7.4 already, of course), so I cannot provide a side-by-side comparison, sorry.
