Is this software safe?

Tickeys is a cool software and brings typing on mac lots fun. I really love it. One concern about this software is that: Is it safe to use it even when we are doing online banking and other things require a password? How do I know that this software won't track the user typing history and accidentally leak the information of the user?

Hopefully, the author could give us an explanation of this safety concern.

First of all, I am not the author, so here is just a suggestion to the concern, not a compilation instruction. the concern is doubt the safety of your own passwd, use any firewall to disable the internet usage for this app, therefore no package is in or out from this app to the internet.

How can a simple open source thing steal your information? If it does, it will be discovered for a long time. After all, the code can be seen. Of course, you can use some packet capture tools to check whether any data has been stolen
