There is still not specific progress. I think a changed name would become the name for a brand new framework because Marpit architecture is a bit of outdated.

Note: Now Node.js 12 also has reached to EoL at 30 Apr.

It seems to be fixed in MathJax math block (implemented in v1.2.0). We can close this in the near future, if MathJax rendering would be a primary option.
