compute overlap ratio from source point cloud to target point cloud

Open lcxiha opened this issue 1 year ago • 2 comments

Hello. Is the 'overlap' in the train_info/val_info/test_3DLoMatch_info/test_3DMatch_info.pkl file refer to the overlap score from the source point cloud to the target point cloud? Is the 'overlap' necessary in training? Or is this overlap score only used to determine whether a point cloud is a low overlap point cloud?I am very confused and looking forward to your reply.

I’m unable to check for sure since I’m currently traveling. But if I remember correctly that’s just the ground truth overlap ratio. I don’t think the code makes use of it.

Thank you very much! May I ask if you have time to answer my questions again after your trip? But I don't quite understand what you mean “that’s just the ground truth overlap ratio”.Could you explain it in detail? If we use this algorithm, can we eliminate the need for the overlap rate of two point clouds? In the end ,I wish you have a good trip.
