Minimal set of changes needed to get on to yeoman-generator 0.18.0.

I'm happy to tweak this if necessary, but this project is pretty far behind on yeoman-generator, and my intent was to reduce the scope to a couple versions and minimize changes (for the sake of pending prs)

@roaks3 I wouldn't expect this being merged in the next year or so. There are PRs pending for over a year now.
