BGM cutting off/not repeating on v2.1
I am using hax version 2.1, and every time i try to do the bgm for the theme, it works fine, except when the bgm gets to a certain point playing in the home menu, it cuts off and is just silent. This is the same file that I used before, and it will not loop with installing a custom theme with this hack. Is there a workaround at least or not? thanks. Old3ds fw 10.3U
What's the exact filesize?
I believe it was 2,195 kb but i can double check later
to be specific, it says "size on disk: 2,260,992 bytes"
both of my friends had bigger files; one at 3100ish kb, and the other at 4100ish kb. They worked fine before, even with normal themes (I didn't test the 4100kb one before on menuhax but all them worked as a normal theme.), but the 4100kb one wouldn't install, as it said it was too big.
"file that I used before," What system-version and menuhax-version was that?
It was on 10.1. All the 3dses are o3dses, and we are now all on 10.3. Im pretty sure it was the one before v2.0
No it was 2.0 nevermind
any update?
"size on disk: 2,260,992 bytes" <- The BGM I normally test with is larger than that and it plays fine it seems.
I am running on sysnand 9.2 now, and now everything plays fine. However, my friend who had one that was around 4100kb refused to install. should I attach the specified brstm I used that was cutting off on 10.3?
"4100kb" Is too large. https://3dbrew.org/wiki/Home_Menu#Home_Menu_Theme_SD_ExtData
EDIT: If you have actual BGM which is not too large for themes, "was cutting off on 10.3", and does not contain any copyrighted material, then sure upload it.
Is it too large for any theme or just too large for themehax themes? Also, the bgm i was using is "decide in the eyes" from f-zero x (it was on smashcustommusic).
The former obviously if you would read the wiki link ...
Odd. I installed it with CHMM2 before i started using menuhax on my friends 3ds, and it worked fine apparently (i don't know if it cut off or not). If you want the song to test, i believe it was the battle theme from devil may cry (apparently theres two, but its the one that sounds more techno.
I apologize if i am not specific enough right now.
Well I have now confirmed that my friend's BGM is now cutting off, his being approximately 3000kb. I ended up fixing the issue with my own when I downgraded, but both of them still have the issue.
If you really want anything to be done with this you need to link to a bgm.bcstm that doesn't contain copyrighted material.
Ok well if thats the case i can't post a direct link but the song i am using is "decide in the eyes" from f-zero x, which was from the smashcustommusic site.
What's the exact byte-size for that?
the exact file size is 2,247,680 bytes
also, this issue has been somewhat resolved personally since I am on a different firmware version that does not have this issue. Also, my friend now uses a different theme, which I am pretty sure does not cause any issues with skipping.
"when the bgm gets to a certain point playing in the home menu, it cuts off and is just silent. This is the same file that I used before, and it will not loop with installing a custom theme with this hack. "
My usual testing BGM loops fine with the restart-point being after the beginning of the audio(shufflehax).
