Add new C++ support

Ideally I would like to have more interfaces but time is short so I think this will work for now. Also I copied the copyright from some other files but I think they should be updated accordingly.

Ooops, not really. I wasn´t even aware of that example. I'll see how to adapt it to use the new implementation in a separate branch / pr.
