Request: Auto-detect languages

Open cacafuti8888 opened this issue 2 years ago • 8 comments

Hi, nice program. One thing i missed is the ability to auto-detect wich language is the audio/subtitle based on filename like mkvtoolinx do. I don't know if this is easy or not to implement but i think this can be the cherry on top for this program. Thanks

To be honest, it's very cool request Can you show me an example? [maybe screenshots]

It's integrated in MKVToolNix, it's on gitlab https://gitlab.com/mbunkus/mkvtoolnix. Here's the configuration section 2022-09-23 183946 And here is an example. If i import those 3 subtitles (need to have a language in it's filename, ex. 'english', 'en' or 'eng') Captura de pantalla 2022-09-23 185354 Captura de pantalla 2022-09-23 185712

As you can see in the 3rd image the language of the imported subtitles are automatically processed.

I can add an option to only accept subtitles with the same language in the corresponding subtitle tab based on file name is this good or not worth it?

Will be nice if you use filename language codes https://registry-page.isdcf.com/languages/ to detect which language is.

Would be very useful for massive batch

Not a problem but did you read this ?

I can add an option to only accept subtitles with the same language in the corresponding subtitle tab based on file name

Because i won't violate the current gui for this So will try best to respect both

Hello, sorry for the delay. It would be nice if you add that as an option (adding only the languages that you select). The thing is when you want to add multiple subtitle files without the need to specify the language of each one will be extremely helpful

you can literally just select the folder contains all the subtitle and if it contains like : ...arabic,srt / english.srt / japanese.srt you have to add three tabs of subtitles and just add the same path for each tab and every tab will automatically just see the subtitle with the same language in the corresponding tab Is this worth it?
