I think it has broke because tidal has changed to hifi and max as the quality, albums won't download as max quality only cd quality.

It works but you got to work a little. You need to extract the tidal token from the desktop app on which you play the MAX quality. Search for a tool named "Requestly". Install it and enable system wide operation from the options at the bottom, not a browser template. Now it scans your network traffic. Start Tidal and open a playlist to pull some tracks. In Requestly at the top click on "Filter" in the "Method" box select "GET" in the "Status Code" box select "3xx REDIRECTION". The list should now populate with entries. Select one that contains tidal.com in the URL. In bottom left list select "Headers" and look for an entry named authorization. The value should be: "Bearer some characters as token". Hover over the value and select only the token without Bearer and copy it with Ctrl+C. Open Tidal-gui and in the settings paste the new token and save settings. You can now download MAX quality files. The token will expire much faster than the usual token, usually daily. You can test with a MAX file and see what quality it downloads. Enjoy!

I followed the upper instructions, but I still can't download MAX quality files.

When I hit the button “try get” in the Tidal-gui, It shows me the message: “Can't fin accesstoken in the tidal desktop log file, please login first”.

Any help please?

Don't press "Try get", just save the settings with the OK button. Works for me.

I'm not sure about this, but some MQA songs or albums still are in 16 bits 44.1 khz.

Maybe that songs are recorded in that quality?

MQA files are always 44.1 kHz/16 bit. Some may be 24 bit but most are 16 bit. If you have a DAC with MQA decoding you can play the files with foobar 2000. Just select the ASIO drivers. It's similar with what the Tidal app does when you use full control. Foobar2000 will send the stream and the DAC will decode it. Foobar volume must be set to 100% to work. Foobar will change the DAC bitrate and sample rate automatically depending on the file played, also known as bit perfect. Enjoy!

Very useful information! Many thanks for letting me know that MQA files usually are CD quality. Also, I'm going to try playing using Foobar2000 as you recommend.
