Constant crashes and PCB file destroyed

Prerequisites

  • [x] I have read FAQ
  • [x] I have searched existing issues (including closed ones)
  • [x] I use KiKit at least version 1.7.2 (older version are not supported)

KiKit version

1.7

KiCAD version (only KiCAD 8 and 9 are supported)

9.0.4

Operating system

Windows 11

Description

Constant crashes when using mousebites. Program would hang repeatedly and I'd have to shut it down because it was unresponsive. Tabs wouldn't connect with the circuitboards. Eventually it just destroyed my PCB layout, deleting it completely, and I now have to redo the layout. Just reporting this in the hope that it will save someone from what I went through. This version of kikit is by far not ready for release and should be pulled from distribution. I'll find some other way to panelize my PCB.

Steps to Reproduce

See above. This was a simple job and it couldn't even handle that.

You shared your frustration. You haven't, however, provided any steps for reproduction; hence, there is not much we can do.

Currently, we have no similar reports, so having steps to reproduce would be greatly beneficial. You probably have a very specific setup.

To be honest, however, I don't believe KiKit could corrupt your source files. These files are only read; they are never written.
