Extend cutouts into space between PCBs

Open sauttefk opened this issue 3 years ago • 3 comments

Prerequisites

  • [X] I have read the documentation and the proposed feature is not implemented.

Description

If a PCB has a cutout on its edge, the cutout should extend into the space between the PCBs (backbone) and not end at the v-cut line.

Unpanelized: Bildschirmfoto 2022-04-26 um 15 00 14

Current behaviour: cutout not extended

Expected behaviour: cutout extended into inter-PCB-space

Could you share the unpanelized design? I am wondering why is there a V-cut going through an internal cutout. If there was an external cutout, it shouldn't have a closing edge on the left.

kikit panelize
--layout 'hspace: 5mm; vspace: 5mm; rows: 2; cols: 2'
--source 'tolerance: 15mm'
--tabs 'type: full'
--cuts 'type: vcuts'
--framing 'type: frame; width: 5mm'
--post 'millradius: 0.5mm'

Now I understand - therefore, this is a feature request for the full tab style. Other tab styles are not affected. This definitely makes sense and it is something I will consider implementing.

This is now implemented in 19f7f17

For the design you submitted, it generates: Screenshot from 2022-09-11 19-58-26
