My attempt to explain what I learned when I released 4.16.3 back in April.

This is looking kind of...verbose, let's separate this into "what you need to do" which is:

  • tag PRs for translation
  • comment in PR
  • merge resultant version update
  • simplify release notes
  • generate translations
  • Commit with version name
  • Add tag

And then separately, the things that happen automagically - both downstream and not

My comment still stands, "What should I do" should be minimal, and "what actually happens" can be verbose
