Folder /mnt/user/Amazon/.local contained encrypted files.
Advice? Any tips on how to narrow down the problem?
Unfortunately, the problem is not with acd_cli. I'm using encfs --reverse and that makes the mount read only. Even when I explicitly tells it to be read write. Here are the encfs command
echo <password> | ENCFS6_CONFIG='/boot/acd_cli/config/.encfs6.xml' encfs -S --reverse -o rw -o allow_other -o uid=99 -o gid=100 /mnt/user/Amazon/local/ /mnt/user/Amazon/.local/
acd_cli works wonders so far.
@syaifulnizamyahya try a newer version of encfs. I was originally using Arch which currently has a package for encfs v1.9.1 and wasn't having any issues with acd_cli removing files after uploading.
I switch to another system running Ubuntu 16.04 to continue the process and found that it was having these errors about removing the files. After spending forever trying to figure out the issue I compared the versions and found that Ubuntu 16.04 is using encfs v1.8.1.
I downloaded the encfs source from github, compiled and then installed it and now I'm not running into any issues on Ubuntu either. Take care to notice that Ubuntu install encfs under /usr/bin and the github source make install installs to /usr/local/bin by default.
@henrymohn You were right! encfs --version reports that I was indeed on version 1.8.1. When I have upgraded, I will report back my findings.
