Resume and switching stations issue

Open HackaN opened this issue 4 years ago • 2 comments

Describe the bug While listening with screen locked I can pause playback from headset, but not resume playback. I have to open the phone and switch to app which seems to have been closed because the GUI loads/reloads.

Resuming playback automatically, like after a phone call which interrupted the playback, works for a moment and then stops. Seems to me like it was what Transistor had buffered into phone memory.

I am using Version 4.0.7 ("Andy Warhol") from f-droid.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Start playing in transistor
  2. Lock screen and leave Transistor playing for a while
  3. Pause playback (or take/make a phone call)
  4. Resume playback fails.

Expected behavior Resume Playback

Device:

  • Device: Google Pixel 2 Walleye
  • OS: Lineage OS 17.1
  • Version v4.0.7

Additional context When I try it now it seems to work as long as I just left the app or just locked the screen. Perhaps the app goes into some idle mode after a while which causes this to happen?

@HackaN

Thanks for reporting this problem. 👍 I am not yet able to reproduce the problem.

Here is what I tried to reproduce the bug:

  • start playback of a radio station
  • go to home screen
  • display last apps
  • swipe away / clear the Transistor UI -> playback continues
  • lock screen / black screen
  • call myself -> playback pauses
  • answer phone call
  • end call -> playback continues (without stopping shortly after)

Can you test if those exact steps cause the problem you described on you device?

Interesting. I can say that I did not experience this on my previous Pixel with LineageOS. I have to assume there's something funky going on with this phone then.
