advanced stream adding options

Open selfisekai opened this issue 4 years ago • 4 comments

some stream URLs are problematic for the app (for example: http://3.dktr.pl/m3u.php can't be recognized as m3u by file extension). there should be some advanced settings to force choose the stream format.

I am a bit hesitant to add that feature to the user interface. Unexperienced users might try to add weird stuff, if there is no check from the app.

For the hardcore users there has always been the option to edit the m3u files, that Transistor uses to store radio stations, directly using a text editor. Those files are stored in /Android/data/org.y20k.transistor/files/Collection. But that should be an edge case that almost no-one should have to use.

Anyway. Transistor performs a check for the mime type of the stream URL entered - file extensions are not important here. I found out that this check has a bug in your special case. A fix for this will be part of the next update of Transistor

In the meantime: Try to add the stream URL directly. That should work, too. http://41.dktr.pl:8000/trojka3.ogg

Hi, first of all, I really wanted to thank you so much for develloping this wonderful app I really like a lot! It´s a precious peace of work; simple and yet very practical. I wonder if there is currently any option to manually add stations? For example, I´m paying for a formerly free radio station in Russia, that needs support and only releases the current url to users donating some pennys. So obviously no way to find that url within the station search universe. All the best Jakob

Hi Jakob. You should be able to manually add a station just by entering the URL of the stream in the search box. Have you tried that?
