Speed change is wrong, when playing new podcast

Describe the bug When you change the playback speed of a podcast and with to another podcast, the changed speed is displayed, but the real playbackspeed is 1.0

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. open a podcast
2. tap on the speed in the left corner and change it to 1.4 x
3. jump to another pdocast and press play
4. its played with 1.0 x speed, but speed 1.4 x is displayed on the screen
5. you have to tap trough the diferent speeds to get back to 1.4 x speed

Expected behavior The podcast should be played at the changed and also displayed speed, or the speed display should show 1.0 x speed.

Device:

• OS: Anroid 10
• Version 1.0.4

thanks for the detailed bug report! I am not actively using the feature, therefore I need feedback like this. :+1:

I tried to reproduce your steps, but on my phone and in the emulator the app behaves as follows.

1. start an episode A
2. change speed to 1.4 x
3. start another episode B
4. episode B is played back at 1.4 x (the indicator in the upper left says 1.4 x too)

A not very likely explanation might be. I am using v1.0.5. At the top of my head I am not aware of any changes affecting this behavior between v1.0.4 and v1.0.5

Hi,

I have upgraded th v1.0.5, bute the issue is still there. To reproduce it, it's easyer to set the speed to 2.0 x than it's easyer to hear that the speed is wrong. I can't tell an exact way to reproduce it. Ialso could be, that it hapens, when the app was closed. WhenI testedit today, it showed a speed of 2.0x fom my last test,but it was played at a speedof 1.0x. Iused theapp 2 days before.

Sorry for the late answer. Are you able to reproduce the problem, when you are using the four steps I followed.

1. start an episode A
2. change speed to 1.4 x
3. start another episode B
4. episode B is played back at 1.4 x (the indicator in the upper left says 1.4 x too)

Or do I need to introduce a delay? Wait a couple of hours or tap Pause before starting the next podcast.

Hi, sorry for my late answer, too. If I test it like you mentioned before, the speed stays at the speed. I think you have to wait longer time. I notice it when I have listen to a episode with a speed faster than 1.0 x and then reuse the app 2-3 days later to listen to another episode. I have done another test now.

I listened to an episode with 2.0x speed. Stopped the playback, restarted my phone, opened the app again and pressed on the play button, now the speed shows 2.0x speed, but the playback is at 1.0 x. Maybe that's easier to reproduce.
