Hi @daveriedstra

Escapepod is pretty strict when it comes to checking the Content Type of a feed. It only accepts RSS feeds. I probably need to rethink my stance here, because quite a few podcasts are not configured correctly.

In your case the feed (http://radiolingua.com/feed/cbg-podcast) has the Content Type text/html. The type should be application/rss+xml.

You can check the Content Type of an URL using the developer tools in your browser, or use an online-tool like this one: https://fabianstiehle.com/mimetype/

As I said. I might drop the Content Type check in Escapepod. But in the meantime: Just today I contacted one the podcasts I am subscribed to, because they have the same issue. You could do that too.

Ah, gotcha. I just sent them an email, we'll see what happens.

It seems the feed EscapePod finds is outdated. The correct feed is at this URL and works fine. So the real issue is that EscapePod discovers the wrong feed somehow. They've asked where the old feed URL came from so they can look into it on their end, what should I tell them?

Escapepod uses gpodder for its search.
