Widget not available

Open ChewyJones opened this issue 6 years ago • 3 comments

I have a Moto e5 Play running Android version 8.0.0. I installed this great app, but they're isn't an option to place the widget on my launcher app. If I launch the app I get a demo page, if I long press the icon I only get the 'app info' option (not the widget option), nor do I have the option to drag the widget to the launcher via the normal way of placing the widget on my launcher page. Previous phones have allowed this to work great. Thank you.

I dont know what launcher you are using, but there is usually a widget selection menu.

Different launchers make this accessible in different ways.

If you are running a stock launcher, then the owners manual for the phone should answer this question.

I am using an old version of Apex Launcher, and it actually has all available widgets in a menu screen set up much like the app drawer.

In fact, it is accessible via the app drawer.

A possible lead; have you somehow got the app installed on external storage? I have a problem with some apps where, when they are stored one external not internal, it disallows that apps widget from appearing in the standard widget list.

That is most likely the problem, now that you bring it up.

I have had this widget issue, quick tiles disappearing, and homescreen icons vanishing-- all caused by having the apps on the SD card instead of the internal memory.
