How to keep original file .extensions?
HTTrack renames all the non-standard extensions to HTML. I'm trying to mirror an archive of old software CDs, filled to the brim with files that have custom and/or typical software extensions. HTTrack renders most of it useless (unless I want to go ahead and rename thousands of files by hand). Is there a way to clone these files 1to1?
Good old Teleport Pro sure does that perfectly, but it changes the file dates though, and I want to keep them. HTTrack is good with dates, but I'll take my extensions over dates if I have to choose. Is there no way to have both?

Try turning off "Check document type" because .jar .docx and .cbz are all .zip really
Not that it should matter but turn off "URL hacks" as that will rename html files
Maybe it's because I'm still waking up, but I can't for the life of me find the "Check document type" thing. Can you point me in the right direction?
Its under the Spider options just below "Accept Cookies"
Thanks - I think that did it! :]
i have mine set to never too... and i'm doing the same thing... downloading CDs of old games with extensions it doesn't recognize... VBX (visual basic) PRG (atari, amiga..) EX_, INF, VXD, $00, the list goes on... or ones with no extension...
is there any way around this? will the '-%t' thing work?
Could somebody explain in what way "Never" could lead to a bogus local mirror?
