Fair enough! However, I think there are quite a few things to iron out before applying; the HIG are not always respected I believe, some things aren't very intuitive and accessible, and most importantly -- and I think that's a blocker -- I don't think it offers a good experience for non premium users. I'm not sure Spot should be recommended to users at large, when most of them might be frustrated to realize they can't even use it.

As the project still has few features compared to what you're going to implement, taking some time to implement the HIG would be interesting. Your project would have much more visibility than it deserves.
