How can I set it to auto-add a bullet when I press enter?

I have this same question, I had been using "[space]*[space] as my "bullet" line-starter. I switched to just using "-[space]" and now [enter] makes new bullets for new lines as I expect. It'd be nice if it detected all the markdown supported bullet variations, but it appears it does not.

it seems that even using -[space] and then pressing enter doesn't work for me. It's strange how inconsistent this is

I don't seem to be able to get a bullet automatically no matter which character or spacing I use.

Is there some other Vim setting that prevents the bullet being created?

Same as for BackSeat. Note new line will add a bullet when I've indented away from the beginning of the line.
