Problems with versions 3.2.4 and 3.2.8 on Thunderbird 91

Open NannoSilver opened this issue 4 years ago • 4 comments

The version 3.2.4 is not working properly on Thunderbird 91.3.2 x64 for Windows. The XNote++ button is greyed.

I manually installed the version 3.2.8 https://github.com/xnotepp/xnote/releases/tag/v3.2.8 that works fine, however seems it is labeled, internally, as version 3.2 (instead of 3.2.8), and, because of that, Thunderbird keep automatically downgrading it to version 3.2.4, that Thunderbird thinks is newer.

Thank you for the good job developing and keeping this very useful addon.

[…] the automatic update probably installs not the newest version 3.2.8 from the repo, but the "official" version 3.2.4 from the TB Add-Ons store. Disabling automatic updating for XNote++ stops that.

However, in my case 3.2.8 still produces this error message:

XML Parsing Error: no root element found Location: chrome://xnote/content/xnote-window.xhtml Line Number 1, Column 1:

in the XNote window as soon as I try to create a new one or read an existing one. Does this work ok in your case?

Regards, Bernhard

Yes, I disabled the automatic update for XNote for now.

The version 3.2.8 is working fine so far. I am not getting the "XML Parsing Error: no root element found". I am running the Thunderbird 91.3.2 x64 for Windows portable version (from portableapps.com updated to 91.3.2 by the Thunderbird updating system).

I apologise for the wrong version numer 3.2, that is indeed a typing error. I will upload v3.2.9 here and to ATN.

XML error: for a few users , that error comes up, and we do not yet know why. Mainly, it sems to be on Mac OS, but not always.
