No symbols when viewing file from teletype session

Hi! :)

When opening a remote file (via teletype session), the symbol tree appears empty.

Also tried listing symbols with the symbols-view core package, but it has the same problem.

Possible issue with the teletype package? Or is there functionality missing from the symbol packages, or something missing from teletype.
